Committee hears poverty summit recommendations

Thursday's Milton Champion (February 17th), reported that "members of the Region's health and social service committee heard a number if recommendations to help Halton's most vulnerable". Anne Swarbick from Halton's Habitat for Humanity was one of the conference organisers and presented recommendations form the Summit on Poverty Reduction. The article reports the 5,300 households waiting for rent-geared-to-income housing. The video "Being Poor in Halton" was shown. The Halton council passed a motion to establish a poverty task force.
